Are Canadian taxes extended 2021?

Canada’s 2021 tax deadline is still April 30. Despite renewed school and business shut-downs in parts of the country due to the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ottawa did not prolong the tax season this year. April 30 is the cutoff for turning in your individual income tax return and paying any taxes owed.

Most states allow you an extension to file your state return without needing to file anything other than the federal extension. Check your state to see what they require. Important: An extension of time to file your tax return does NOT mean you have an extension of time to pay your tax due.

When is the deadline to file an extension?

E-file Your Extension Form for Free Individual tax filers, regardless of income, can use Free File to electronically request an automatic tax-filing extension. Filing this form gives you until October 15 to file a return.

Do you need an AGI to file a tax extension?

Can a sole proprietorship file a personal income tax extension?

However, there are exceptions for certain sole proprietorships and single-member LLCs (limited liability companies). If you report your business activities on your personal tax return, then you can file a personal income tax extension (IRS Tax Form 4868) which will extend both your personal and business tax deadlines.
