Can you get commercial insurance without a business?

By Olivia Norman |

If you don’t operate a fleet of business vehicles — or run a business at all — you may never have given commercial auto insurance a thought. However, if you’re regularly using your car for an employer, it’s their responsibility to insure it for work-related driving, whether or not they own the vehicle.

What is the difference between commercial and personal insurance?

A personal auto insurance policy will help protect you, your car, and anyone who may be involved in an accident. Do I need both commercial and personal auto insurance?

Can a car insurance company cancel a suspension?

It’s also very likely that your current auto insurance company will cancel or decide not to renew your policy. Your insurer will find out about a license suspension when it pulls your motor vehicle report near renewal time.

Can a car insurance policy be cancelled with an invalid license?

Having an invalid license would certainly mark you as high risk and your policy would be canceled. If you’re an existing customer, the insurer can decide not to renew your policy for virtually any reason. This is different from a cancellation.
