If you earn income in one state while living in another, you will typically need to file a tax return in your resident state (where you live) reporting all the income you earn. You may also be required to file a state tax return where your employer is located or any state where you have a source of income.

Do you have to pay tax on all your jobs?

You need to pay tax on all your jobs. Make sure you set money aside for tax from every pay cheque (unless you’re exclusively working through a labour hire company that’s paying your withholding tax, or are otherwise having the correct tax deducted at source).
