Is LendingTree legitimate?

By Sophia Koch |

LendingTree is 100%, certified legit. LendingTree will connect you with lenders, and the service is completely free. One of the main criticisms of LendingTree is the potential for “hard pulls” on your credit by lenders.

Is LendingTree bad for your credit?

LendingTree’s inquiry does not count towards your credit score nor does it show up on your credit report to anyone but you. Each Lender has their own policy about pulling your credit. Some may pull your credit before they make you a loan offer; others may pull your credit after you have accepted their offer.

How long does it take to hear back from LendingTree?

LendingClub says the entire application, approval and funding process takes 7 business days or fewer, on average. So if it hasn’t yet been 7 business days, there’s no reason to worry.

Why does LendingTree need SSN?

Typically, LendingTree uses a borrower’s SSN to obtain his FICO score, and it uses this information to choose the lenders to which it submits the application. They can see the borrower’s name, home address, phone number, desired loan amount, monthly income, and FICO score.

Is getting prequalified for a mortgage a hard inquiry?

Preapproval usually requires a hard inquiry into your credit. While this may cause your credit score to drop slightly, it won’t hurt your credit in a significant way. Subsequent inquiries from other mortgage lenders within the same time period (usually about 45 days) won’t affect your score at all.

Is LendingClub easy to get approved?

LendingClub loans are reportedly easier to get than the average unsecured personal loan, however, with a credit score requirement somewhere between 600 and 640. Then, they can choose to apply for one of the available options, at which point LendingClub will do a hard pull of their credit to finalize approval.

Can I use my SSN to get loan?

Having an SSN makes getting a loan considerably easy. A bank/lender can retrieve all the necessary information required to process the loan with a person’s SSN. However, not having an SSN may raise certain issues. But don’t worry, you can still apply for and get loans from a bank or a lender.
