A required minimum distribution (RMD) is the amount of money that must be withdrawn from an employer-sponsored retirement plan, traditional IRA, SEP, or SIMPLE individual retirement account (IRA) by owners and qualified retirement plan participants of retirement age.

What is $1000000 RMD?

For a 90-year-old, the RMD on a $1 million balance would be $87,719.20. You can always withdraw more than the RMD amount, but any additional withdrawal won’t count toward future RMDs.

Why is RMD mandatory?

The purpose of the RMD rules is to ensure that people do not accumulate retirement accounts, defer taxation, and leave these retirement funds as an inheritance. Instead, required minimum distributions force the holder to withdraw at least some of the funds as taxable distributions while still alive.

I have a question regarding… I like the brevity of it. All of these phrases seem to work well. For more info on usage, check out Merriam-Webster. “About/In relation to”, I think is definitely safer and more versatile with “regarding” coming in second.
